    Thirteen

My grandson turns thirteen tomorrow, which is almost here. It might turn tomorrow, while I finish typing this.

Thirteen. The first year of being a teenager. I have been thinking a lot about being a teenager.

Sometimes I think that I'd like to be that age again. Then again, in this much different world, I think that perhaps, I'd rather just stay where I am.

So what about you older MiceChatters. Would you like to be thirteen again?

no, i don't think i would. 13 was a really awkward stage for me and i was having some pretty heavy family problems (god, i sound like Marty McFly). i think i'd like to be 16 again. those were actually fun times. then again, nothing can really compare to my life now. i feel like i'm getting my chance to grow up.

my daughter is 13 now...it's been an interesting year because i've come to realize, watching her, that it's the one age she's been that i remember most. the friend chaos, the hours of phone calls, the body image thing..which is muuuuuch more prevelant now.. i notice too...how many kids her age... she included, that have mental and emotional problems...you can't TELL Me this has nothing to do with our environment, water, food additives... it's all so overwhelming...
Barbara...have i ever told you just how much i look forward to your threads? :-)

13? Eh, maybe. Freshman year of High School was pretty enjoyable, my complexion hadn't started going to hell yet. I might go for being 13 again.

I'd like to be thirteen again if only because it was considered rebelious to sneak into an R-Rated movie, talking to a girl you liked--on the phone-- was a big deal, and stress consisted of the impending Spansh quiz the next day. A simpler time, no doubt.

Not. A. Chance. Now forever twentysomething......*sigh* Oh well.
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

You couldn't pay me enough. I hated my teenage years and I hated most of my 20's as well. I'm very happy as a 30-something.

You're forgetting something....Everyone is a kid at heart right???

I liked being 17ish actually because that is when I was in 11th grade and I liked that time the most. I went through a lot then....I even had my first school suspension then too for a prank call me and my friends made...That's another story for another time though :lmoa:.

But now that I think of the way I looked back then!!! Screw it I am happy being the age I am now !!!

I wish I could live that way too. Hopefully when I get my car insurance issues out of the way, i will be able to cruise the open roads. That type of adventure will be a bunch of fun.
