    my 1st DL mouse

yesterday I went to DL with some friends, and we were waiting for Fantasmic to start. My friend was eating a strawberry doughtnut thingy( I dont know why for some reason I cant think of the name of it right now, I eat them all the time.) and cut a piece off, but left it on her plate, when she screamed cuz she saw a mouse get that piece from her plate. It was already dark and people were looking at like she was crazy. My BF had his camera, and flashed the light at him, and others around can see him with food in his mouth, and took it inside of a hole. The pictures didnt come out, so i cant show you. I just wanted to share my little experience with Mickey's cousin. Have any of you seen mice at disneyland beisides mickey and minnie??

    Numerous ones, numerous times...

They get pretty big on Tom Sawyers Island!

We usually watch them near the RR Depot in NOS while eating at the French Market (us AND them).

Large Rat in the Hub in front of the castle,
during the day. It was under a bench I
was sitting on, and then scurryed onto the
    walkway.

So did you see Eisner anywhere else in the park that day?

The cats have it too easy, scrounging through the dumpsters or hanging out at the Whitewater at GCH, to worry about catching those pesky mice.

All of the cats that we have seen around the Resort, look too healthy to have to chase mice around...

    Was it a park-hopper? A 2-fer? No wait, must've been an AP....

cats don't have to be hungry to chase mice around. they do it for fun. My cats are very well fed and they will still go after mice and birds...

Sure, our cats do the same thing.

I guess that someone better tell the DL cats that, though.

I'm sure they do their fair share of mousing, but if the rat/mouse population boomed they can only do so much. Maybe they do what my male cat does....he plays with them and when he gets bored he lets them loose...it so fun to catch his little friends running around the house. Thankfully i found the mouse and two of the birds....unfortunatly one bird made it behind the couch and must have gotten stuck and I didn't know and I found him and I was sad.......poor little bird. On the other hand my female masacers animals. I find parts everywhere....she's older now and plumper now. I think she may be to slow to catch them now. It's been a whole since i walked into a crime scene.....

Never seen a mouse, but I did see a cockroach while standing in line on BTMRR. I stepped on it and kicked into the track section.

    Re: my 1st DL mouse

i wonder if there's anything else DL can do to get rid of the mice besides have cats eat them. I know some cats are lazy and dont even want to bother chasing a mouse. But what else can be done?

    Re: my 1st DL mouse

I would imagine that it is a never ending process for DL. They catch a hundred mice and another hundred show up in a few days. They reproduce quickly, there are multiple places for them to get food (dumpsters, ODVC, kitchen facilities, etc) even the food that never makes it to the trash cans is enough to attract mice from all around the area.

Sure, we don't like them, but they don't take away anything from our enjoyment. They're just a fact of life for an establishment as big as DL.

Now if a mouse runs across the counter at the River Belle while we are ordering dinner, that's another story...
