Need some tour-isty type stuff
My future in laws will be coming to CA (for the first time) for our wedding. On Friday (the day of the rehearsal) Theywould like to do something in the morning. Being that there is traffic and they may be in the Ontario, CA area, I've kind of warned them about doing stuff in L.A. due to 1). Traffic 2). they have to be at the church for the rehearsal at 6:30pm
The following Weds they have to be at LAX at 7:30pm and are looking for something in the OC or L.A. area to do (they likely will not get out until noon, check out time)
Any suggestions?

Pasadena on Friday maybe? And uh, maybe Knotts Wednesday? Or Laguna Beach.

If they are not Disney people, perhaps they would enjoy a day at the Getty Center http://www.getty.edu/visit/ or Los Angels County Museum of Art http://www.lacma.org/. Then there is always Rodeo Drive if they'd rather see Beverly Hills.

They have 3 kids ages 11, 9 and 4

They are doing Disneyland the day after the wedding with us. So DL is taken care of. I suggested Aquarium of the pacific on Weds before they leave. They can travel to LAX from the Aquarium

There's the Cabrillo Beach museum & tidepools (free, $7.00 parking)
The California Science Center (hands on science museum in exposition park & the rose gardens there- the center and gardens are free, parking is $6 or $7, there is also a tacobell, mccdonalds inside)
Hobby City maybe?

How about the Getty Museum? The collection is mediocre, but the architecture and view are superb! You could also walk around UCLA, which has a beautiful campus.

I concur! I went to Laguna beach when I was in So Cal back in July, it's really awesome! There's alot of neat shops to look at.
Or maybe they could go to La Brea Tar Pits, my mom told me it's cool. Actually, my mom grew up in SoCal she'd be a good one to ask questions like this. She has an account on here, but I forgot her name. :???:

D.K. - Just a few blocks north of LACMA and the La Brea Tar Pits is
The Farmer's Market @ 3rd & Fairfax Blvd. has every kind of foods and souvenirs, authentically Los Angeles.

The Grove is good for L.A. shopping and goofball celebrity sightings, typically at the Apple store or the theatres. Plus they usually have live music and other entertainment going on and their built-in fountain extravaganza.

What about Arrowhead and/or Big Bear? Pack up food for a picnic (if people are rather picky about what they eat), and enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon, sitting by either mountain lake. Also remember, it's clean air up there, no smog.
