Thank you for posting that, I think its important for us as a country to remember the kids who are dying for us right now.

    Re: In Memoriam

My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the troops who have served over seas and their families who have been left behind.
Agree or disagree with the war, the soldiers should always have our support and respect.

Many thanks to those who serve and protect.

Thank you GC for reminding us all why we have this 3 day weekend
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

    Re: In Memoriam

GC, I'm glad to see someone acknowledge what this day truly means. Sadly, a childhood friend of mine headed over to Iraq last week. My thoughts go out to all of them past and present.

Thanks for reminding us that this day is not only a day off but a day to remember our fallen and fighting soldiers.

    Re: In Memoriam

On Memorial Day, I always take a moment to read the story of the Sullivan Brothers. If you get a chance, Google them. It's an extraordinary story. Very sad, but it's one of the ultimate stories of heroism ever.

    Story of the Sullivans
"Which one?" Thomas Sullivan asked. It was early on the morning of January 11, 1943 and Tom was the only one moving about the kitchen of the house at 98 Adams Street in Waterloo, Iowa. He had awakened that morning to prepare for work and, while fixing breakfast, noticed the black sedan arrive. The three men in Naval uniforms had been welcomed inside. The Sullivan patriarch knew before they spoke that they were bringing news of his sons. He also knew the news wouldn't be happy news.

Lieutenant Commander Truman Jones swallowed hard. It was the saddest, most disagreeable task of his Navy career. "I'm sorry. All five." he said matter of factly. There was no other way to break this kind of news.

Amazing cartoon. It's so sad that we need even one panel to list the names of the dead heroes.

Thanks to all in the armed forces for their service, and their families for the sacrifice.

What a sad story... I cried at the end.
