No. 1 song when you were born

I happened to see the begining of American Idol tonight and the theme was songs from the year you were born, so I thought it'd be fun to see what the No. 1 song was when each of us were born go to here and type in your birthday, unfortunately it only works if you're born since 1955. Those born before, feel free to pick a significant day in your life.

For me, "Tragedy" by the Bee Gees was the No. 1 song in the US and "I will survive" - Gloria Gaynor in the UK. I'm a child of the disco era, frightning.

    American charts:
Torn Between Two Lovers - Mary MacGregor
    Never heard of it.

    UK charts:
Don't Give Up On Us - David Soul
    Never heard of that either.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Is that the Mr. mister song your singing here, because "take these broken wings and learn to fly" is the exact lyric from "Blackbird" by The Beatles. Lots of people stole from the Beatles, like sublime.

"Early in the morning rise onto my feet, light me up that cigarette and I'll slap shoes on my feet"

    exact same melody as

"Lady Madonna children at your feet, wonder how you manage to make ends meet"

A favorite Japanese singer of mine, Bonnie Pink also did a cover of Blackbird. It was quite lovely if I say so myself.
