    Friendly debate: 4-13-05

Here's a thread to discuss non-heavy debateable topics. I'll throw in a poll as well. Today's topic:

Should the toilet paper roll go over or under?

I feel it should go over, so that the loose end does not dangle in a manner that it would more likely come in contact with what is probably a bacteria-laden surface.

    What say you?

definitely over. It's easier to find the end that way, I think.

Oh man!!! Back in college i had this insane roomate that would INSIST on having it go under. Well, long story short, it was a silent argument that consisted of the roll being *secretly swiched EVERY DAY...over..under..over..under....

    It definately goes over.
Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
    Marge: Pink.
    Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

I am just happy when the TP makes it on the roll at all! Hubby loves leaving spare rolls all over out tiny bathroom. If you asked him, he would say "it goes on the towel rack"

This is a topic of debate on several forums I've visited. Definitely over, unless you have cats. Under is just wrong.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who was anal about this. Being the hospitable person I am, I even fold the tips to a point when I have houseguests like they do in hotels.

Oh man, I find the strangest things to obssess about. Like all my hangers have to be EXACTLY the same size too so it's easier to carry them in big groups.

    Pun intended?

My thought on the "turn down service" or whatever you want to call the maid folding the end of the toilet paper for you is to wonder what they were doing just prior to folding it ...... cleaning the bathroom, perhaps? Did the wash their hands first? I'm not a germaphobe .... but I usually tear off the folded portion, wash my hands three times, all the while chanting "stay away e. coli" ....

    First it goes over.
    Then it goes under.
