I Forgot it Was Flag Day

I forgot that it was Flag Day. I remember after 911, a lot of people got really patriotic and there were United States Flags flying everywhere. Those flags flew for a long time after 911. Now you see less and less of them.

I am not a super patriot. I love my country. I feel a bit ashamed that I forgot that today was Flag Day.

Not many flags in my neighborhood today either. I wore red, white and blue today, only because the elementary school where I work celebrated Flag Day today, so I was given a heads-up.

Don't feel bad Barbara, I forgot too until I got to work. Then when I came home, I still didn't think about it before I went to lunch with a friend. Our heart is in the right place, we just have to many other things on our minds.

Flag Day is observed in the United States on June 14 each year to commemorate the anniversary of the official adoption of the American flag by the Continental Congress in 1777.

    I love Flag Day!!
I put out my flag in the morning and smaller flags in all my flower containers.
In the evening, I attended a lovely Flag Day ceremony which was a wonderful reminder of what our flag represents.

Don't feel bad about missing flag day. You can choose any day to hang your flag, patriotism never goes out of style.

Re: I Forgot it Was Flag Day

I had my flag out and flying but I keep it out all the time. DH made me buy a new one last month because the old one was looking old... There aren't too many Americans in my neighborhood, so we're one of the few families to fly the flag. And we fly it proudly!!
