    Sad spending too much money!

i feel like im gonna throw up!

i just ordered my laptop for college. on my mom's credit card. and i feel like im gonna throw up. seriously. i cant believe i just spent that much money.

i got the new 17" macbook pro. which, even with my student discount, ended up being nearly $3000. and then they had two promotions going on relating to students buying computers. one where you got up to $179 off of a new ipod--so naturally i had to buy a 30gb ipod. and one where you got up to $100 off a new printer--so i bought a $99 photo printer.

i was so torn up over the thought of spending *that* much money at once that i forgot to buy a mouse and sleeve =\

im gonna be so cheap later on =\ even now, in walmart, i'll see my favorite movie on dvd and spend half an hour debating over whether or not to buy it, only to carry it to the register and change my mind last second.

    sdklfsfds!!

    just needed to vent.

I always spend way too much money. Thankfully I just got a big raise at work so hopefully things will balance out more.

    Yeah right.

Yes it was a lot, and you could of got something cheaper but... think of it this way... you got one of the most powerful, stable computers in the world, and one that you will be able to use all the way through college and beyond.

    And I am totally jealous.

why did you need that computer? Why not get a simple but effective $800 one? That is kind of like giving a Ferrari to a kid with a learners permit. I bet your Mom will be thrilled.

Best of luck in college, you'll have a cool time.

The term is "buyers remorse." Yes, it's an actual psychological state of mind. You spend too much money and you feel guilty. However, if isn't part of a pattern, you should be fine. Just be careful and make a point of using the confounded thing at least once a day!

i'm majoring in graphic design, or possibly animation if i switch schools later on. and this laptop will have to last all 4 years.

also needed somethin that could handle games. well. wanted, not needed.

my main concern was something that would last all 4 years without bein in the shape my poor little dell is in right now.

Then if your major is in graphics or animation you made a good choice. Just take care of it, and it will take care of you. But be careful with what you put on it. Even a Mac can get bogged down if you put to many games or shareware stuff on it.

So for what you spent... I got myself a pretty decent laptop AND I'm building a pretty kick arse desktop right now if I do say so myself.. haha... and I still have money left over.

But I know where you're coming from ... I go into the apple store and just drool at that MacBook Pro. I would have got the 17" too, hey if you're gonna splurge, might as well go all the way. They always get people with that iPod deal.. I already have a 20GB 4th Gen and a 30GB 5th Gen... my friend got a new iPod with his new Mac too.. even though he knew he didn't need it. har har. Anyway I'm waiting for the new iPod so I can continue to throw my money at Apple.

I'm gonna get myself a Mac, but for grad school. Right now I live close enough to campus to lug a desktop to the dorms, so I'm gonna do that. But as soon as I get into law school... that MacBook is mine.

its absolutely beautiful, isnt it? originally i wanted a "nice white mac" but ..then i saw the macbook pro. and fell in love. lol. i was actually looking at the macbook pro way before the ipod deal. which was insanely convenient cause my old ipod died a month or so ago. and i was trying to figure out whether or not i should try and find the money to get a new one, or just do without.

but yeah, i really wanted a mac. im so frigging sick of windows. its so much work just to get this thing to work even a little.. and its so ugly =\

i actually *seriously* considered the imac but i'm goin to school about 4 hours away so i need somethin that i can lug home if i decide i want to come in on the weekends.
