completely new at this....how did everyone get soooo into disney?

FINALLY! A new topic that I cant remember being discussed here.

I remember looking at my neighbors Nat'l Geographic as a kid and it was all about D-land (the actual magazine was from the 60's) and being fascinated by it. Plus seeing t.v. shows showing the park, and then getting things from my sister when she would go (maps, big suckers etc) I wanted SO BAD to go. I finally did in the summer of 1976 when I was almost 9. That cemented it.

Now, I'm actually more into the parks than the movies and characters (I know, the shame) but I figure it's all symmetry right?

Yes, the music helps, but there is so much theme to everything.
Knotts doesn't have the "magic" that Disney does.
Disney takes you to places, Knotts just takes you on a ride.

Me too. People think I'm a freak (they're no doubt right but they're flat out wrong about the reason) as I walk around work all day wearing the iPod and singing Disney songs and attractions (I'm addicted to the original CBJ show right now) or humming BGM loops. They positively flip out if I try to make them listen too.

I grew up going to WDW nearly every year when it first opened. Between the monorails, the hotels, the Magic Kingdom, I thought it was an amazing place. At that point, I was already a fan of many of the movies, the characters, etc. I told myself way back when that being a monorail driver at WDW had to be a great job. I finally actually did end up working there and after a couple of months in merchandise, I ended up transferring into monorails and realized a childhood dream that had later seemed silly and unlikely.

I've told many a person that I had worked in the World of Reality and really preferred Fantasyland.

I was born in Burbank in the hospital that is across the street from Walt Disney Studios, before there was a Disneyland. Though I grew up in NorCal, my grandparents lived in Burbank, and we would visit every summer. Starting in 1955, we would visit Disneyland for a day--but just for one day each year. Life was what happened between visits to Disneyland.

I have always enjoy things that were Disney. I loved pooh bear and the mouse. I don't live to far away (50 miles round trip) so when I was younger it was a yearly trip if not more. When I started to drive my visits to DL became more frequent. But I have always been a kid at heart. Once I moved in with grandma the really old kid at heart we got AP and have had them for about 6 yrs. I can't think of a time that I have not enjoyed Disney made anything. So movies might to be my favorite but I have never walked out during one.

My parents took me too the Drive thru here(which is now a Walmart)
We saw the Rescuers and the original Shaggy D.A when it first came out, just sitting inside the front truck of my parents brand new VW super Beetle. From then on, we went to Disneyland in1975,76. I was amazed by Snow White's wishing well back then. I have always loved the animation, and love the artwork that Disney has done. (except Teacher's pet)

I always LIKED Disney - most kids do. I got super into it in high school, with Aladdin, BaTB, Lion king, etc., then faded when I was in college.
Then I moved out to CA, ended up with a couple of trips to DL planned, so I bought a Pass, joined a few message boards and BOOM it's suddenly a huge part of my life!

Mickey Mouse IS real - never to be doubted.
I believe things I wouldn't normally..
and sometimes, just sometimes, wishes CAN come true..
Big Thunder Mountain brings back memories each and every time - first time I rode when I was 4, and I STILL remember that..
Space Mountain was a joy that first time..
Splash Mountain gets me every time..
Everest was a thrill..
I'll ALWAYS feel different at Disney.
When I walk down Main Street, I feel .. like im in a magical fairytale..
I always remember one thing -
Wishes are Fantasmic, when Dreams Come True..

I've been going to DL since I was 1. No wait, I think my mom might have gone there when she was pregnant with me. So I've literally loved DL since before I was born! LOL
