Hi everyone. The name's Lord Mesron, well Scott really, and I am definitely a fan of Disney. My brothers and I go to WDW on average every four years. This year we will be going to DL for the second time. The first time was 24 years ago, so it should be interesting to see what has changed.
As for me, my interests include Disney, computers, music, and writing and reading fanfiction.
In case anyone is interested, the username comes from the old Commodore 64 game Questron.
(Pardon me - Discovering this topic a little late) ..........
Hi ....... I'm Escapé ... reads like escape. :~
My primary interest in Disney is Disneyland in Anaheim. Having grown up 6 miles from DL in clean "Brady Bunch" Buena Park suburbia ..... I use to watch the fireworks in the summer time .. and hear the whistle of the Calico Railroad at Knott's Berry Farm. Guess you can say theme parks are in my blood.
I was introduced to the world of discussion boards in May of 2000 over at LP. Where I have been a passionate poster now going on 5 years.
I've scanned a few other Disney Fan sites over time. None of them really grabbed me.
Since I have been reading Al's columns over at Mouseplanet ... I followed him to his new home here with Miceage. And continue to enjoy reading his updates.
Once I learned he was going to start up a discussion board feature ... It felt like the natural thing to do was to join the group!! :-)
So ... I'm having fun continually getting acquainted with all the features. With only 100 posts since I signed up in April .. I'm still getting to know the format.
I hope I'm welcomed by you all .......
I've never done the Sunday noon meets in DL (which I understand is a long running tradition since many of the founders were part of Mouseplanet) ... but I am looking forward to shaking hands with some of you ...... Come next weekend .. for the July 17th Meets.
Hi, I'm Brittany, also known as Aerin. My sister dramaqueen has been talking about this website for a while, and she finally got me to join as part of the drive for 3000 members before the 50th. (Or something like that.)
Umm, what else. I'm going into my sophomore year at Pomona College, where I'm working this summer as a helpdesk consultant. Big nerd, that's me. My boyfriend and one of my colleagues both bought APs on May 5th, and another former colleague just got hired at DCA, so we're down there pretty often. I grew up in Mesa, Arizona (right outside Phoenix), and because we were all Disney freaks and SoCal was a close and relatively cheap vacation spot, I've been going to Disneyland with some frequency since I was a kid. In fact, proximity to Anaheim was my first factor in narrowing down my choice of colleges.
It'd be extremely fun to work at Disneyland in some capacity, except I don't have a car and couldn't afford an apartment close enough to the park that I wouldn't need one. If I were better at math, I'd probably love to be an Imagineer, because I've got some pretty good ride ideas. (How about a Monsters Inc. roller coaster through the door warehouse? Or a Choose-Your-Own-Tomorrowland Peoplemover?) As it is, I'm hoping to work at Pixar in some capacity, hopefully in the story department and working my way up to being a director. Aside from Disney stuff, I'm a huge fan of Firefly (if you couldn't tell by the signature), and I think everyone else should be too, because it's just that awesome. I'm also very much into webcomics, regularly reading way more than I could list here. I'm currently working on my own comic, which will launch sometime this coming winter if I can get my act together and stop hanging around message boards.
So yeah, that's me. *waves* I'll bet other people didn't write intros this long. I'm special like that.
