 | I'm a teacher!!!! I just got called for an interview yesterday with the district that I was dying to work for. I had my interview today and at the end he's all "let's make this happen" and offered me a job!! Granted I still have 1 class to go but he said he's heard so much good about me from just Phase II (there's three phases) that he wants to hire me! I will be teaching 5th grade!!! Now I have to go through all the drama of my evil university not communicating and get paperwork taken care of to get my intern crediential.  I'm so excited. I just wanted to share this with all of you, because whenever I was down about my job and stuff I would come on here and your posts would cheer me up.

| Re: I'm a teacher!!!! Congrats!!! Did you sign a contract yet? If not, you may also consider shopping around for the best salary. Most districts are highly competitive for teachers. Congrats on the start of an amazing career.

| Re: I'm a teacher!!!! I'll be teaching in Bakersfield. I would have shopped around but no other districts want to hire interns and it's either get an internship or not paid to do full day student teaching. But yeah I'm very excited because it's one of the higher paying districts.

I know that Orange County is not big on the internship thing, so I had to suck it up and not get paid for a semester. It was hard, but everything turned out okay in the end. I've been teaching 5th graders this summer and I also student taught in 5th. Let's just say that I am relieved that summer school ends on Friday.

Piece of advice--there will be critics along the way. Some will be in your head; some will be people who love to tell you wrong. Know that you are right in doing this. Peace!
