I mostly lurk around here, but I’m hoping you micechatters can help me out. I’ve lived in Southern California for only a few years and in the Inland Empire, so I rarely get out to the coast. I needed a getaway, so my husband booked a room in Marina Del Rey Saturday night. We’re also meeting up with a friend in Santa Monica.
Any recommendations for somewhere to eat? I’m not really a burger type of person; I love really good food and also local specialties. Suggestions?

I used to work in Santa Monica.
There's a little Italian place on Ocean Park Blvd. I love called Il Forno. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Don't get me wrong - Il Forniao's GREAT! Esp. their sandwiches and salads at lunchtime. Mmmm. We used to get them all the time at work.
C & O is better and isn't a chain, though.
