I don't really have a team I root for. But the USC Song Girls ...
Being that I'm not a fan of any particular team, I can be objective in my picks.
I don't understand why everybody is still picking Texas. Did they not see the same National Championship game I saw? The one where Vince Young pretty much single-handedly beat the Trojans. How is it that people think they will be just as good without him?
And Notre Dame. Yes, they had a good season last year, but did you look at their schedule? And what about getting whooped by Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl last season. #2??? My left foot.
I think that Ohio State and Auburn will be at the top before all is said and done.
Texas will be good, teams like that just reload from one year to another and have solid players waiting to replace the ones that leave. National championship good? Probably not. It's always tough for the Big 12 and SEC schools anyway, since they have the extra championship game against a usually solid opponent. But I love watching college football because of the tradition and the emotion.
I love the fact that they are projecting the Big 12 Championship game to be Nebraska vs. Texas. Of course they have picked Texas to win, but if Nebraska made it there, I'm totally going to have to find tickets.
Is your house as big of a Nebraska shrine as mine? Jesus. He's got the beer opener, the blanket, all the games video taped...I'll find him watching a game from 4 years ago at like 3 in the morning. We had to get the NCAA college package on TV, just so he can watch them.
My friend gave us an autographed pic of Eric Crouch, too.
Then, of course, there's all the damn hats, t-shirts, jackets.....
