Question Moving to the Disneyland Area: Where are the nice places to live?

I haven't posted in a long time (over a year), I have been so busy. I have been a lurker though!

Anyway, I will be moving to the Disneyland area soon (hopefully) and I need to know where to live. My dream has been to work in Disneyland.

Is Garden Grove a nice area? The city of Orange? I have no idea so I would love your help. I don't know what info any of you will need to help so let me know and I will add more info.

Thanks so much for your help.

    what kind of job?
I ask this cause, well, rent is HIGH in the OC. Do you have an idea of what amount for rent you're looking at, or what price to pay for a house?

keep in mind, the median price for a house, MEDIAN price, is 750k

we're hoping to move back and be able to afford a little condo once my inheritance comes thru, but sheesh, our brand new 1700 sq foot house here was only 284k, that's a huge price jump
Will there be screams when the sun sets,

I would be willing to pay $2000 a month for rent. I would work @ TDA but be a crazy one and walk around the park instead of hiding in my office! I am applying for a few managment jobs. I would love to work in attractions but I need to pay off my college loans!

I personally recommend La Mirada. It's right next to the 5 freeway, about a 10 minute (or less) drive from Disneyland, and back when I lived there it was the safest city in L.A. and the 6th safest in the nation. (This statitistic was back in '98) Prices may be steep however.

I lived in Brea which is a very charming city about 15 minutes away from Anaheim. Its far enough away from the city but so close to everything. I really loved living there.

    Woo, best of luck!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Re: Moving to the Disneyland Area: Where are the nice places to live?

What kind of commute are you willing to deal with? I'm absolutely in love with where I live (Lake Forest), and for the money, it's one of the best price/neighborhood deals going in OC. However, it's a bit south of DL so traffic could be an issue.

I used to live in an apartment community in Costa Mesa that was pretty nice (streams and ducks, that sort of thing) called Mesa Verde Villas. It's also a bit south, but the good news is, there are surface street routes to DL if you need them (and during rush hour, that's very helpful)

Garden Grove is closer in to DL, but touch-and-go neighborhood wise. There are some very nice parts of it though.

I might be able to find you some properties available for lease if you'd like to go that route, send me a PM and let me know more specifically what your needs are.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
