TAMPA – If you thought you felt your house shake on Sunday morning, you weren’t imagining things.

FOX 13 has learned that an earthquake registering at 6.0 on the Richter scale shook parts of the Bay Area at 10:56 a.m. on Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The quake’s epicenter was located at latitude 26.339 North, longitude 86.568 West. That’s 260 miles west-southwest of Clearwater, in the Gulf of Mexico.

Residents from St. Petersburg to Temple Terrace to Lakeland reported feeling their houses shake. The quake was also felt in southwestern Louisiana.

    No damage has been reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey says there is no danger of a tsunami because of the earthquake.
