I hate those "I'm sorry, did you mean..." "I don't understand you..." SBC (aka ATT) has one, that chick annoys.
when it gets busy at my work they make us answer the phone. I was transferring someone to another dept, but the way our system works is if they push any buttons it will route them right back to Custoemr service. So, I was waiting out the hold time,s o the customer woould get to the correct area and the hold thing was so annoying.....

without a valid account number you will have to wait without express service...
OMG....I felt so bad for our customers. There is no express service unless they mean talkign to the automated system.....LOL

im just glad the majority of the people who are on hold and listening to my voice(over and over) arent on hold for too long and are employees of the company!

As far as "Your call is important to us..." : baloney. If my call was important to you, you'd answer it instead of palming me off to some phone tree that wants me to solve my issue without bothering you.
I'm tired of repeating myself over and over to someone who can't understand what I'm saying.
I'm no longer embarassed by repeating over and over, "I have no idea what you're saying."
I work on phones all day long, and usually when dealing with our vendors I have to wait on hold as long as it takes.
So, when I'm not at work, I will not hold for anything. Serious, I'll hang up after about a 3 count.
It depends on if it's for work or personal business.
I pay most of my bills online. I generally these days won't even deal with a company if they don't allow online billing or have a website. I don't trust companies that haven't come into the 21st century.
The one exception is SoCal Edison ... why they don't have online billing is beyond me ... but they don't. At least not where we live. I will call and use the automated system to pay my bill or just do it the old fashioned way (send a check in the mail).
I really hate it when they do that to you when you are calling your doctors office!!!!

I ave found that as long as I can still play on the internet I will hold for quite some time...LOL...
Maybe I'm just special, but I get people calling ME and putting me on hold!
You answer the phone to hear "We have an important call for you, please hold for the next available representative."
That's an immediate hang up. If it was really an important call, there would have been someone real calling me.
