    TLT (Time Limited Tattoo)

The world’s first non-permanent tattoo option! TLT allows consumers the freedom of self-expression without the long-term commitment associated with traditional tattoo inks. TLT tattoos and body art will fade on a pre-determined time-release schedule. These high-tech inks created using safe, biocompatible materials are the first of their kind. TLT is the first non-permanent tattoo option that is truly a tattoo; applied in a manner consistent with today’s current application technology. However, TLT does not require laser treatment for removal; the scientifically formulated ink will simply disappear on a pre-determined time-release schedule.
Interesting concept. I guess I'm confused as to why you would bother sitting for a tattoo if you don't want to keep it forever. It could be a way to try it out and decide if you like a design, but then you'd have to get the tattoo again if you decide you want to keep it.
    A signature should go here.

So you get all the pain and none of the permanence? What's the point of that?

I can't imagine the artists are gonna be very keen to have to stock this stuff on top of their regular ink. Not to mention the knowledge that their hard work will just disapear.

well I for one would love this, i always wanted a tatoo, but some times they just look tacky after a few years. Yeah, I would love a small tattoo and have it fade over time

I don't really see the point. I mean tattoos hurt. Why go through all that for something that will fade away?

I agree. Having a couple of tattoo's I can't see why one would go through the discomfort of having something applied that will "time-release" fade away. A tattoo is applied by injecting or forcing ink into the skin layers and removed with laser by burning away a few layers of skin at a time which is why removal can take several visits.

Although I am sure that home-made inks and those not made for commercial tattoo use can contain harmful materials there is more risk from unclean needles and dirty conditions. Also, what if it did not fade evenly and you were stuck with half a tattoo for a longer period of time.

Could this be like Henna? Interesting but I think I will stick to the traditional method. If I am going to spend the time and money (tattoos are not cheap) then I want it to be around for a long time.

I can see that. I was totally nervous when I got mine that I wouldn't like. I love it luckly, but I can see the appeal for someone who wouldn't want one for all eternity

I agree. I also cant see many artists wanting to use this. If they are putting the time into doing a really good piece, I would think they want it to stay. I could be completely wrong, but Im this is JMO.

Better idea: make sure you know what you want before hand. I thought about my two long and hard beforehand and guess what, I still love them.

There ARE other places to get a tattoo, ones that are "age proof". That's why a person should think seriously before getting a tattoo. It's there forever and you have to take age related changes into account.
