    Inappropriate topics in work meetings

So there was a meeting today with an insurance guy here in the office. First off, let me paint a picture. Tall guy, mid 60ís, kinda overweight and balding. He shows up wearing a white button down shirt and these bright orange shorts that look like boxers, black shoes and dark socks. Oh yea, talk about a looker!

He proceeds to talk to us about a little bit of health insurance stuff, then babbles on about how he has donated to the Republican party and thatís how he got an Air Force One hat, he didnít actually ride on it. Then he talks about the gigantor crucifix heís wearing and how heís born again and how this other guy he knows is born again and how much itís changed his life and how his kids are trying to get money from him but heís fighting them. And then he talks about all these properties he owns and how smart he was to make those investments, blah blah blah. HELLO!!! How are ANY of these topics relevant to health insurance? And when he was asking my one coworker about how she has kids, but isnít married, and how our other coworker has kids, but isnít married, you know he was deep inside about to explode at the fact that they had kids out of wedlock. That part was funny. Too bad I didnít get a chance to mention I like boys

He seriously just needs to zip it because not only is my boss JEWISH, heís a liberal Democrat! Not sure we'll be using this insurance broker again.

So have ya ever had instances where someone just came into a meeting talking about things SO not appropriate? What were they?

Actually, if you're 'born again" you have MUCH lower insurance premiums because you're like a new born, not 60, so you should totally think about it.

Yah. 2 weeks ago in the middle of a meeting, my boss (who's a guy in his 60's) told my coworker (who's in her 20's) how happy she makes him and how much she amuses him.

So far no, but I saw a guy dressed similar to what you discribed at the bar Friday night.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's ok for my co-workers to massage me during our bi-weekly VTC. Sans pants.

No inappropriate meeting stories, but I could tell you some stories about what some of my co-workers tell customers!

Didn't you wonder how you could be getting a two-handed scalp massage AND a neck massage at the same time?

I used to have a boss who would voice his political views alot during our group meetings. Of course we rarely saw eye to eye; he was quite the conservative and I looked like a flaming liberal next to him. Really I am quite moderate. At least I thought I was until I worked there.

It's always amazing when one person in a meeting can be so nutty! One of our big cheeses here is always saying the most bizarre crap. We look at each other like, WTF? The worst is she makes up crap and states it is policy, which defeats the purpose of having policy.

Another boss speaks very poorly of our big boss, who is an elected official, it is really uncomfortable, like when Migo thinks my leg is a basset hound.

Onut, I love your office stories. Someone should go there and do a documentary and call it something....like... oh....I don't know...The Office.

And migo, I've never wanted to move to Canada more than I do right now. You work for the US government? Please say you work for the Venezualan government. Please. Even if you don't mean it, just say it.

    Stinkerbelle,

Migo could tell you, but then she would have to kill you.
