I see such tremendous growth when compared to your previous site's offerings. Great use of color. I wish you all the best in the show.
Thank You. Taking on painting was a giant step in my growth. Seeing them on the internet though does not do them justice. The one with the surfing samurai was done on a 36"X36" canvas. Huge painting. The first painting of the wave was my first attempt at oils (Everything else was done in acrylics). On the internet you just can not see the full array of colors in the wave. One day though I will have my own gallery and everyone here will be invited to come,
You have quite a range of styles, I like that.
I love the Orcas, beautiful.
and of course the castle....hmmm, wonder why?
The Orcas are one of my favorite pieces. Wyland is one of my favorite artists and I wanted to try something in his style. The castle is a piece my wife will not let leave our home. The internet doesn't bring out the best in the piece. I glazed the pink in the castle with an opal-glitter paint. The glitter sparkles and if you walk by it, the castle looks like it has just been sprinkled with pixie dust.
My next piece will piss a few people off but it is my take on sacrificing Art for coporate greed. I'm copying Leonardo DaVinci's "Last Supper". The Jesus figure in the center will be Walt Disney. All the Apostle's on the left (Center figure's right) will be Disney Era Characters. On the right, the Judas figure will be Michael Eisner and the Apostles on that side will be Eisner Era Characters.
Dang, I think that sounds cool! I am not easily offended
Me niether. I guess being a loyal South Park Fanatic brings that out in me. I also want to do a nice painting of the Little Mermaid. I want to have the Prince in a wetsuit sitting out in the surf lineup on a board and Ariel resting her chin on the board while her tail is under the water.
