Birthday Ideas for Saturday

I am so tee'd off right now. I called my boyfriends mother in West Palm Beach and asked her if I could surprise my honey with a visit to see her because he hasn't seen his family in months and she was all excited and agreed to it. Then she calls HIM the next day and tells him that we can't come out this weekend because she doesn't have the room? WTF couldn't she tell me that??!! Now he is depressed because he really wanted to see his family and I am stuck trying to think of something else to do with him this weekend for his birthday.

Anyone have any good evening or day out ideas that will cost us under 100 bucks?

Or maybe if someone knows a good steak place for dinner that would help to.

Here are some things I considered:

Le Cellier: He LOVES steak but they have no openings.
Halloween Horror Nights or Halloscream: 50 bucks a piece, to expensive sadly.
Dinner Cruise: Oddly enough I can't find one sailing this weekend.

Other than dinner, I really wanted to find something to cheer him up. He just isn't the type of person to be down all the time and this thing his mother did really socked it to him. I want to make him feel better but nothing is sticking out.

Why don't you try the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary?

I say send the girl over to moms, wrap your self in celophane and put a candle on your head and sing happy birthday at the door while greeting him wrapped in celophane !!!


How about going to the beach? ok, i am now wanting to go to the beach!!
How about sea world, or to a zoo, or many there is so much to do there Summer!!! Ask him, maybe he has something he wants but has not said what ever it is, tell him Happy birthday for me!!!

I love your idea Karla but I might want to add some more to it. I did ask him though, he tells me he isn't in the mood for anything really but he knows he wants steak.

Great steak there... mom hates it when i suggest we go there... lol
(she actually banned the canada resturant for a reason... lol but forgets about the concourse steakhouse in contemporary... lol)

See if Bern's Steakhouse has anything available. I'd go just for the separate dessert diningroom upstairs!

Can you get a sitter and cook for him? Someone gave me this idea once that I'm far to lazy to pull off but they said you take different courses of the meal and serve them in different rooms of the house... ending with dessert in the bedroom.

It would be fun, inexpensive and romantic all in one night. (I think another variation is to theme each room to a different country and have food from there but that's way more elaborate.)

ETA: You could also use this but order something and pick it up... no cooking, easier clean up...

I suggested that to but considering his mother has done this to him before, he really didn't want to see her.

So we decided on a day at Animal Kingdom (his choice) and then I managed to get into Le Cellier at 7:40pm.

Love the suggestions though everyone, I appreciate the help so much!
