I can save some money by booking a package thru Expedia (about $50) but I've read some pretty bad reviews about their customer service.
Has anyone had a bad experience with them?

Nope. I just used them to book my flight next month and everything went fine.

I have never used them before but I have used Get Away Today and they were great and you get great prices with tickets too if you don't have them! I just looked at their prices the other day and they were great. Also, you can also pick to stay at the Disney hotels.

I've been using them for the past three years and haven't had any issues so far. I've booked them for flights and car rentals only though - no hotels.
I booked hotel and flight last year, all went well. do not worry there good![]()
I had a really bad experience with expedia , they failed to deliver an airline ticket and then they lied and lied and lied in an attempt to keep 1,254.85 USD. I could recover my money after 6-7 month because my credit card helped me (and because I gave them overwhelming evidences of EXPEDIA's lies). ANyway, I lost thousands of dollars because of EXPEDIA's lies and poor custome support.
Just search for "EXPEDIA complaints" in google or Yahoo and you will read horrible stories (includign mine)
Good luck
I too have had bad experiances with them , on our recent WDW trip the double charged our credit card(over $2000), and after hours on the phones with customer service reps that are not based in the united states we got nowhere, it was difficult to explain the meaning of "double charge" we finally gave up and had our credit card company deal with them. I will never use them for a major trip again.
I have done packages with them before (hotel/airfare) with no problems![]()

And it don't hurt, like anything I've ever felt before, this is
No broken heart,
No familiar scars,
This territory goes uncharted...
I am now involved in my second problem with Expedia. Their customer service is terrible. You have to wait on line 30 minutes just to get a rep.
Even when the hotel turned us away they won't give us a refund.
I've had only good experiences with them!
nope, I use them 99% of the time and never had issues. Priceline is a different story though....
I have a friend who uses Expedia, no problems reported so far, but almost every organization is going to have problems. What sets companies apart is how the problems are handled.
That said, I usually use Orbitz for package booking and all has gone well so far.
I recently booked air alone direct with American Airlines and they were great! I use a travel scooter and they helped out a lot in the booking process, and the gate agents knew I was coming and were very helpful. So for air alone, I think I will just book direct with American Airlines.
Again, for every good story with travel, there are also bad ones. Sometimes using a good travel agent is helpful as when problems arrise, they are ther to help and usually get results that the average person may not. (Note: I am not a travel agent! Just a traveler who has needed help and got it)
Sometimes you can get your best price in online booking then ask a travel agent and someitmes they can and will match it (or close to it).
You can have good experiences and bad experiences with any booking.
I believe the one most important thing to remember is If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is... and the too good to be true deal is likley to be the most difficult to straighten out. Best advice, go to a reputable source, get your best deal, but pay what it is worth!
Just MHO, YMMV
