In kindergarden, for the charistmas pagent, we were taught to sing, " i saw mommy kissing santa claus". But we also had to wear out pj's and bring our favorite teddy bear. At the last minute, one of the teachers decided that it would be cute if we all had rosy cheeks. So, they put lipstick on our cheeks! Thankfully, my best friend was in that class too and remembers the horrors. We even have the picture to prove it (somewhere, I lost it during the move a few years ago and don't know what happened to it.)

In 2nd grade we were on a field trip and having lunch at the park. My brother, a 3rd grader, was chasing me so I did what every sister/girl would do...I ran into the restroom so he couldn't get me. Only as I reached the door he shouted my name and "STOP!" I stopped, slipped in mud outside of the restroom door, fell on my butt, and slid -- right into the men's restroom. I was running into the wrong restroom! At least my brother had tried to be nice and stop me, right?
Hmm...I'll try to dig in my memory banks and find one... All I really remember was getting called racial names by teachers, getting a swat just about everyday just for being a kid, getting flunked in the 6th grade, getting my hair pulled because I stepped one inch out of line...the list goes on and on.
I have a good memory...playing soccer in the rain and mud....with all the boys, I was the only girl who would get out there and get down and dirty...fun times.
My goodness, Claribella! Where did you go to elementary school?
