Photo TR: Los Angeles Zoo and DWP Festival of Lights

Hey all,

A couple of saturday's ago we all went to the Los Angeles Zoo Member's Christmas party and also took a walk down through the DMV's Festival of Lights in Griffith Park.

Here are the pictures

First stop was Benihana to celebrate my Mom's and Kristi's birthday and our Anniversary



The Zoo entrance, much different than the last time I came to this Zoo about 5 years ago

They have this cool thing where you can be a meerkat and stick your head out of the ground



I had to take a picture with the fake penguins





After that it was time to walk through the Festival of Light's that is right outside of the zoo



You drive through this if you aren't walking











That's supposed to be Disneyland's castle through there. You can tell because the tree is blocking it.

Great report SirC The zoo looked fun and I love the picture of the kids with all the penguins. I've only been to the Festival of Lights once and just loved it. So many displays and lights...it was beautiful.

My word of advice though for anyone planning to go, park at the zoo and walk through it. We drove and it took at least 2 hours of bumper-to-bumper traffic to get from the freeway offramp through the end of the lights .

Fantastic report! But, I can't believe you haven't been to the Zoo in five years ... for me it's about 15 minutes away so I'm a member and take my weekend walks there.

Plus ... thanks to your report I see they have a christmas monkey ... I am SO there!
