Last Minute Holiday Gifts when it is too late to ship for free - ;)
Well, Christmas is just a week from today. That means lots of last minute buying and stress. Even worse, the free shipping offers are almost all expired. So for millions of people like me, this week will be the start of a different kind of buying season all together: Gift Certificates. They fit in a greeting card - and cards are much cheaper than packages to ship over night. ;)
This year, I've settled on a gift card which is good for almost anything, the Amazon Gift Card. And if you don't want to send it via mail, Amazon will email the gift card to a friend or family member for you, so you could shop right up until Christmas Day (if you are really lazy).

Amazon Gift Cards
One less stress resolved. Now I just need to order the Honey Baked Ham for Christmas morning and go to Cost Plus World Market to buy stocking stuffers (European candies, strange little things, PEZ - Lot's of PEZ). ;)
Merry Christmas,
-Dusty

Stater Brothers has the gift certificates too. I saw Disneyland, Nordstrom, Home Depot, etc.

Yeah, the only people I have left to shop for are getting gift cards from me. I need to get one from Costco and the other ones I'll probably get at Vons.

I purchased two American Express gift cards this morning and was shocked to find that they had a $5.95 service fee added on to each card! I wanted the receivers to have the ability to buy their gifts anywhere they like, but I think next year, they're going to get a card from a specific store to avoid this fee!

Yeah! I bought a pre-paid Visa for our kindergarten teacher from the entire class and had to pay the fee (and had to pay the $100 in cash). But it's what we knew she really wanted/needed, so we didn't mind.
I am the gift card queen. We are giving an REI card, eBay gift cert, Barnes and Noble, Powell's Books, Container Store, McMenamins, two spa certs, and two local restaurant certs.
I loooove getting gift cards. Unless it's for a place I'd never shop (Wal-Mart, grandma, really?!).
Bring em on!

Ditto and ditto ;) Gotta love the Mbot Cost Plus Coupon

We have Nathan's college friend to thank for that coupon. NNL had a bunch of good ones last year if I remember correctly.
I did some chartitable gifting this morning in honor of a few people in Nathan's family through Heifer International. I love giving this gift. :)

Amazon gift cards are awesome - they really allow a world of options for the recipient.

Wow that's a cool idea, sending it straight through email! Thanks for the tip!
