Re: MiceChat: 2 Years Later - A Brief History

What a great job on the history, guys. Sorry if I jumped the gun a bit with the birthday thread, but I had recalled reading that MC was born on January 10, 2005.

Obviously I am very grateful for this site, for the friends I have made here, and for the efforts to keep it going.

I remember through internet searches I first became aware of some old websites Kevin Yee had, at least one of which had pictures of the New Orleans Main Kitchen, where I had worked.

I think that eventually led me to MiceAge, and then on April 12, 2005 I became MiceChat member 1,986 - at first in an effort to find CM's who had worked at the park during my time.

Again, thanks to all who make this very important part of my life possible every day.

Re: MiceChat: 2 Years Later - A Brief History

Well, i joined at the end of March 2005, just before the lovely April Fool's Day hack. which is what it says April, but it's technically March. I was lurking beforehand, though. I never thought that MC would affect my life so much.

    I'm 1843.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

After reading (and disliking) Al's articles since before MiceAge I was intrigued about Disney forums (as before that I was only really involved with Roller Coaster forums) but I didn't actually sign up until a friend (who doesn't post here anymore) convinced me to read up on the forums, and i decided what the hell. It's beautiful history after that.

Thank you guys for having such a gret site where so many of us can come together and get along so well (well... most of us...)

wow... no mention of the looser story... or anything..

ah.. Senior Itus gets you bad i think.

lets see.. i joined when i first saw the link... then suggested quick reply be enabled... and then ran a munk almost getting banned a few times

I get away with soo much here that would get me in trouble anywhere else..

oh, and wilderdane "was" the person who set up the forums... cause number 1 is always the first person...
then dusty modified it to be a mystery...

    Riiiiiiiiiigggggghhhhhhtttttt...

Hey, I know my MiceChat history too:

The account "wilderdane" was set up for a tech at SkyFire (MiceChat's original web hosting provider) so that they could configure forum software on the site. Dusty chose the name Wilderdane because it was the name he always wanted as a child.

How do I know? Black magic perhaps? Or maybe just a memory of a post long since past...

Thank you for a great forum for us to discuss, meet friends and develop relationships. It has been a great ride for the Wolfpack and we are looking forward to many more years.

Re: MiceChat: 2 Years Later - A Brief History

I am Micechatter #6928; I have just joined MiceChat on June 16,2006. I still hold my welcome thread to this day.
Hello my name is Hayley and I am new in chatting at Mice Chat

I came on the MiceChat on 6-16-06

How I learned about MiceChat. A Disney fan that came on my little AIM Disney Chat told me about it. (I made up this little AIM chat and invited some Disney Fans from the LiveJournal website). This Disney fan wanted to talk about Lion King and this Disney fan showed us a MiceChat thread about this Lion King subject that he wanted to talk about. That was how I learned MiceChat existed and then I decided on 6-16-06; I will adventure in this MiceChat. I don't know if that Disney Fan was a member of here or just a guest. So, I have pretty adventured this place alone until I got along with other Micechatters.

The earlier days; I just played games and maybe threw out some Disney Questions,Dreams,& Ideas that I had.Lastly to make it clear that I love Peg Leg Pete,Mickey Mouse, & Walt Disney on top.

I joined MiceChat Gold in just a few days later and then got involved with my MiceClubs.

Ok, I think I better stop here since it's suppose to be "Brief". As you can now see from this post alone and along with my five diamonds; that I sure love to talk.

    Have a wonderful day.

I love MC. When I got to finally Meet some chatters at Disneyland last August, that really made my day.

Oooh cool. You joined right after me. I'm #1155

    Carry on.
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

I had been reading Al's articles for awhile before, and sometimes viewed the boards. I had a friend who convinced me to join, and the rest is history.

I have met many friends here, and MiceChat completely shattered any stereotypes I had of online communities. Thank you very much to Al, Dusty, and MM!! I know you guys work hard to make this place work, and thanks to all the moderators. These people work very hard for MiceChat, but get little recognition for their efforts...

To many more years with MiceChat!!
