    Post Billboard for KNOTT'S

Yesterday, my wife, in-laws and son and I went to the Date Festival in Indio. After a very short time there (as it was pretty boring), we headed home.

As we drove down the freeway to civilization, I saw a billboard that read something about "The Knott's Resort".

Hello!? When did Knott's Berry Farm become a 'resort'? Does Knott's have it's own hotels on site? I could spend an entire week at the Disneyland Resort and not leave it's borders once - but Knott's Berry Farm? A resort? Does it qualify?

    What are your views???

Aren't they going to be making a resort?

I'm not aware of it. I don't care for Knott's.

Funny thing is - from the top of the Mickey & Friends parking structure, you can see Knott's Berry Farm in the distance.

Knott's has the Raddison Hotel, T.G.I.Friday's, The Marketplace, and of course, The Chicken Dinner Restaurant. There's also Soak City U.S.A. (in the summer) and the hidden jewel (IMHO) Independence Hall.

I don't exactly consider it a resort, but there is plenty to do and see there...

Let's see, two gated parks, a hotel and a shopping center... sounds like a resort to me!

The Knott's Southern California Resort has had its name since Soak City opened a few years ago.....

The Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Southern California.
Situated on Knott's Berry Farm Theme Park property, and adjacent to Soak City Water Park
and Medieval Times. The Hotel is just 6 miles north of the Disneyland® Resort and other Anaheim attractions. The property is the perfect location for your next visit to Southern California.

My daughter does Civil War reenacting when her job permits. Neither she nor the group she is with were able to attend this event. I went over for a couple of hours. It was a nice little encampment and fit well in the area provided near the picnic pavilion. No actual battles were reenacted here like at other bigger venues.
Here is a link to some photos I took on Saturday.

    Hello!!!

Their own branded hotel "on property". Their own restaurant. Other restaurants. Other hotels across the street. Other "attractions" across the street within a short WALK. Their own "Downtown Knott's" as the kids call it (the stores along the walkway to the entrance).

Sounds like a "resort" setting to me...

What's funny about that? Did I miss something? I'm sure that you can see a lot of places from up there.

And from the observation platform ride in Knott's, you can see DL.

    What's your point???

Do you know how many Parking Lots Knott's has??? A LOT, in fact, they have a second entrance that opens when they need to use the Western Avenue lot, heck, that is a lot better than being sent to Simba at the DLR and be told to walk thru DtD, that is a longer walk than if you stayed at HoJo's, Candy Cane Inn, or Paradise Pier!

I have seen the main lot full more than once...

Soak City makes a nice profit and provides a needed Water Park to the folks in the area..... Heck, where is Disney's Water Park???

I was not aware of this. Again, I don't care for Knott's, so I wouldn't keep up on this sort of thing.

I didn't know it had a hotel - once again. And if you are considering the area where Mrs. Knott's is as a shopping center.........then, um, Ok.

Not "HA HA" funny - funny, as in 'interesting'. Sheesh. And yes - you did miss something.
