    Talking Color Me Mine

Anybody ever go to that fabulous paint-your-own ceramics studio? My second job is there and it's an awesome place, I'm always wanting to paint things for people's birthdays

    Re: Color Me Mine

My wife and I have been several times - it's a nice 'relaxer' for she and I. Course, with the baby - we haven't been as of late, but we have some mugs and plates and little trinkets around the house that we painted and had fired.

    Nice place.

Hence why I tend to paint things as presents for others, I simply don't have the space at either of my houses for it.

I think I've been to a place similar to that! We don't have them here on the east coast (that I've seen) but I used to go allll the time with friends after work! It's just a great way to spend an hour or two catching up with your friends!

It's so expensive! I don't understand why they don't include the 'fee' in the price of the thing you're going to paint. My friend had a party there and I got my mug thinking it was only $12, but then it ended up being $20.

It is a fun experience, but it's just that I'm not very crafty and I don't like to get messy.

    Re: Color Me Mine

we have a paint a dream place. We did it once. It was fun, but annoying as well. they would only bring a small amount of the paint at a time. I would use it really fast and have to keep asking for more. I was painting the whole plate green. It took a lot of paint. I still have the plate, but it was to much of a PITA to want to do it again.

My sisters and I went there a couple of years ago to make mother's day gifts for my mom.

The fee didn't really bother me, it was fun. Felt like we were in elementary school again, in a good way.

I used to go there w/the kids when I was a nanny. They loved it. I'm not artist but it was fun! (and free for me ) My dad still uses the popcorn bowl I made him!

There is a place at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells, where you can paint ceramics. Their fee includes everything. When we go to Wisconsin Dells, the last week of summer, I always come home with something that I painted there. last summer, I painted a Mickey bowl. It is fun. It is something that I can do, while Sean is riding all the water slides.

    Re: Color Me Mine

This is one of the most relaxing things for me to do. I could sit and paint all day. I also usually only do as presents for others or I would have a house full. But I dont usually go to Color Me Mine because of the price, we have a knock off place I go to in the Valley. I assume most larger towns have something similar and its definitely cheaper.

    Re: Color Me Mine

The price is kind of a rip off in my opinion, so it's best to make friends with someone who works there as they get 50% off everything.
