Cool Ever been to San Francisco?

My best friend and I are going for Spring Break next week and are looking for any suggestions on places to see and go. We already know we wanna see Alcatraz, the aquarium, the Japanese tea garden things, SHOPPING, and Hard Rock Cafe. We're staying at Fishermans Wharf so we're near everything.

We also noticed on weather.com that it will be raining during our trip, yuck!

    Well,

If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there

For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair

All across the nation such a strange vibration
    People in motion
There's a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion

For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there

If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
    What an idiot....

Yeah, I do that Twitter thing.

Aliotto's is a great place to eat. Very old school. Actually the other restaurant (Fisherman's Grotto or something?) is good too.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I live right across the bay from S.F. Go to Golden Gate park, and the Golden Gate Bridge. North Beach has great Italian food. The palace of fine arts and Exploratorium. S.F. Museum of Modern Art is a great place if you like art.

Pier 39 is a must see, bring warm clothes. We are only expecting a day or two of light rain but it gets cold when the fog rolls in.

The Wharf area is where I usually go and there is lots to do there, ( I live in San Jose, about 40 minutes from SF)

Haight and Ashbury is good to visit too so Ive heard.. relive the hippie days I believe...

Above all, have a great time!

Since you're on the Wharf, stroll over to Pier 39. Lots of shops and restaurants there.

Rent a bike and ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. Blazing Saddles rents bikes and gives out free maps. You can also get a map of the numbered bike routes in SF from the Department of Transportation and parking.

The rain is expected to pass quickly, if it rains at all.
Have bicycle, will ride. Finished 2012 with 10,089 miles, 683 hours, and 482,000 feet of elevation gain.
    2013: 201 rides, 8171 miles, 544 hours, 480K feet.
    2014 so far: 7846 miles, 451,000 feet

Pier 39/Wharf, Ghiradelli's, little italy (great philly cheesesteak joint on the corner across from the stinking rose!), sausalito, lombard st, north beach?, the park area, japanese garden... havne't been there for a couple years, used to go ALOT....

The aquatic park, followed by Ice Cream Sundaes at Ghirardelli? The Haight? Walk the Golden Gate Bridge? Visit City Lights bookstore?

You'll want to pay at special visit to the Barry Bonds Pavillion inside the BALCO pharmacy, located inside the Giants clubhouse at beautiful Pac Bell/no wait SBC/no wait, AT and T Park! Be sure to take home some souvenir cream - just don't ask what's in it!

Seriously, San Francisco is a great town for all the things that have been mentioned above. This sounds way old school perhaps but I once took a Gray Line tour of Chinatown which was great, and also included a meal at one the restaurants there.

And if you love old houses, be sure to see some of the old Victorians.

I'm going home, to my city by the Bay...
I left my heart - in San Fran-cisco...

Thank you everybody. I'm compiling a list and I'll be sure to buy a map so we can find our way around. We'll be there 4 full days.

If visibility is good, Coit Tower offers some incredible views.

I'll be in SF on Wednesday, mediating a big case. If it goes well, I'll see nothing of the city but the inside of a BART car and about two blocks of downtown. If it goes poorly, I might have a half day of kicking back down by the wharf.

There's great shopping in Union Square and the Museum of Modern Art is pretty cool! I love the Exploratorium and you can easily spend a day in there. Golden Gate Park is really nice and there are all kinds of things to do there. A great place to eat breakfast is the Cliff House. And be sure to drive down Lombard Street too.
