Posting Pics of Family??

Is there anyone else here that feels weird about posting pics of their kids or themselves?? I know so many of you do it but I still feel weird doing it.
I braved it enough to post little ones but I'm talking more in regards to Trip Reports and in threads.

yeah, I joined another forum about two years ago and was a member for over a year and knew all the regulars VERY well before I felt comfortable telling them even my real name. I might post a few pics after our next trip...mainly becuase I am starting to get comfy with the people here.....

I'll post pictures of myself or my boyfriend but NEVER of my niece. Not because I'm scared of MiceChatters (because I feel I know some of you really well) but because I know there are some SICK people out there that are capable of doing Lord knows what.

I think its a personal preference. If your not comfortable posting pictures of your children (or yourself for that matter), certainly... don't. I've had my mug plastered all over MiceChat from trip reports both my own and others. It was hard at first because I'm no fashion plate... but after a while I got really comfortable with myself and everyone else and got over it.

I have posted pictures of my daugher, but she's an adult. If she were still a kid....um.. I'm really not sure how I would handle that. I would just certainly not post the pictures of anyone else or their children without their permission, for legal reasons. I work with special ed students, and we even have to have parents signed permission to have them in the year book.

I avoid to post anything personal on internet, if I can do it, no matter if the places are very familiar or friendly.
There´s a lot of strange lurker, hackers, perverts and sick people looking everywhere and I dont like them to know about me or my stuff.
Things fly away in the net you never know who see it.

But that is me. I learned to be suspicius.
I think if someone wants to do it, be my guest.
At least I am, one person, trustworthy.
But who knows about the others...

Unfortunately many times we have to give many personal information online, safe web pages, but I can´t trust anyway.

I have posted photos of myself, and have even shared one of my husband. It wasn't until recently, that I posted a few photos of my grandson. I feel that it's fairly safe. I don't think that my grandson minds me sharing a photo or two, now that he's a teenager.

I was gun shy at first, but my feelings have changed now that I have been posting on MiceChat for about two years.

I feel somewhat comforbable posting here because I've read a lot of your posts and I feel comfortable here. But like French25 said, there are so many people out there that are just freakin crazy!!! You never know what they're looking at or what they're thinking or doing.

True. And as safe and secure as we may feel around here, anything to put online is fair game to be seen by anyone anywhere on the planet. Even Max.


So its a matter of personal comfort. If you feel comfortable doing it go ahead. If you have the least little bit of trepidation, then don't. Its your right to NOT post anything you don't want to.

I don"t worry about it myself, you can dig up all sorts of stuff on me if you're at all search engine savvy. Granted, being a man in my 40's I probably don't have to worry about sexual predators, except for the ones wanting to hawk me Viagra. everyone has to ***** their own level of risk.

If people knew where I lived, etc, then it might be a problem. But posting family pictures of us at Disneyland, etc ... not an issue.

There are certain things I wouldn't post, but vacation stuff is okay.
