So I had my first Jamba Juice today...

    ...and I was quite underwhelmed.

I got a coupon in the mail for a free small All Fruit smoothie. So I tried the Strawberry Whirl. It tasted very bland. I drank maybe half and threw the rest away.

I think I'll just stick with my usual Tropical Smoothie Cafe from now on.

They were better when they were just Juice Club.

At least, those are the stores up here that Jamba Juice turned into.

Re: So I had my first Jamba Juice today...

I haven't been to a Jamba Juice in about six years! There used to be one near my office and I'd go for lunch once in a while.

Then I quit working and they just don't sounds appealing anymore. I can't imagine going out of my way to buy a smoothie. I hardly see them anymore. I wonder if many around here closed? They seemed to be a fad...but that was ages ago here.

The one good thing I can say is that I won a $200 Macy's gift card in a drawing at JJ, and I bought a vacuum with it.

I'll just stick with Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I've loved every smoothie I've tried from them... especially the Jetty Punch (strawberry-banana) and Kiwi quencher (strawberry-kiwi). Plus they have awesome wraps and sandwiches!

Well, at least the one I got today was free so it's not like I wasted a few bucks. Maybe I'll try them again sometime.

Yeha, the all fruit one's aren's so much a traditional smoothie. Theya re just ice, juise and fruit. A regualr smoothie (at least in my book) has some sort of milk product in it.. usually togurt. I'd say, give it another go and have a regular one! My hubby loves the orange dream smoothis and the passion fruit one if my favorite!

Among the major chains I prefer Robeks. Best of all, though, is a local chain here in the Ventura County-Santa Barbara area (12 stores) called "Blenders In The Grass". Quite good!

Re: So I had my first Jamba Juice today...

My though on smoothies from anyplace is that when they add bananas, it dulls the 'zing' of the other fruits that may be in the drink. As well, the yogurt they toss in there dulls the 'zing' as well. I also think some of the frozen stawberries that are in them aren't too sweet either - another 'taste dulling' factor.

Personally, whenever I go there, I get my own custom blend. I get PINEAPPLE. It has pineapple chunks, pineapple sherbet, pineapple juice and ice and it's whirled away and tasty.

I will admit this - Juice It Up is tastier and ZINGIER than Jamba Juice.

Robeks is in the Bay Area now too. So farI've seen one in Fremont and one in Newark. I love the super acai bowl with granola and bananas! YUM!

Really? We have a Juice It Up on my campus and I don't really care for it. I mean, it's good when I am late to class and need something before I die of exhaustion but I would much prefer Jamba Juice.
