What do you bring to a party?

If you are bringing food to a get together with friends, is there a "special" dish you like to bring?

For summer, I'll bring either a killer pine-nut & blue cheese salad my wife came up with or fruit salad with plums, cherries, peaches, etc...

If it's a Christmas party I'll bring my frosted peppermint brownies

Re: What do you bring to a party?

I always always always bring a bottle of my favorite red wine, so I know what I'll be drinking.

Food? I'm all over the place.

Around the holidays, I'll bring homemade pies--apple, pumpkin and chocolate to meals. To parties, I just bring wine and sometimes peppermint bark.

For Super Bowl, I bring slow-roasted babyback ribs in a crock pot. I'm very popular.

Summer bbq's, I bring a green salad, a pasta/artichoke/mozzarella salad, or brownies or cookies. Sometimes bread from the bakery down the street.

    But always the wine.

Re: What do you bring to a party?

    It depends.
I'm known for my taco salad.
    But that's not always appropriate.
I like to make desserty stuff so I'll usually bring something like that. My mom has some great Christmas cookie recipes so I make those at that time!

Of course, we usually have parties here so all we provide is alcohol
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Pine-nuts and blue cheese salad sounds yummy. Maybe you will share the recipe. For summer parties I usually get stuck making spinach dip or apple dip. Winter time I always bring homemade butter brickle.

Re: What do you bring to a party?

Most of the parties we go to are our friends/neighbors that live on our block. So when thats the case we fill up the kegerator and wheel it over for the night and thats our contribution (in reality I think a dish of 7 layer dip would be more cost effective)

If its a party where I have to bring food I usually made chicken casadillias, homemade mac n cheese or hubby makes his famour hot wings.

    A little piece of heaven

I always make desserts. I HATE to cook....LOVE to bake. So, I make cakes. For the Christmas party at work...I made my famous Rocky Road cake. And for something hubby went to recently, I made a Jello cake. Always BIG hits.

I bring GOOD beer, and either my home made salsa, or I bring something to grill. My most popular side is grilled asparagus, or bacon wrapped asparagus.

    I always bring wine

For superbowl- I always bring my 9 layer taco dip- its delicous! Always all gone.

For parties- usually fresh mozzarella and tomatoes w/olive oil & balsamic vinegar drizzled over it (no cooking involved ) I know a great italian deli with all authentic italian goodies.

I always bring my bean dip. It always goes fast.

I am well known for my deviled eggs. On Easter I cooked 36 eggs, cut in half, 72. They were gone in about 30 minutes.
