I may just have a lot of questions...

    Question 1:
Is it true that in Boston when making a left at a light, people don't wait until the yellow to turn left? I hear they go quickly when the light turns green before the oncoming traffic starts moving towards you.

I'm not sure what our route is at the time. But I'm sure this is something we can make happen. When it gets closer to the leave date, I'll let ya know.

I wonder how long it will take for me to acquire the Bahstan accent?

I also heard that you never call Boston 'Bean Town' and you NEVER call the North End 'Little Italy'.

The driving in Boston is insane. Pretty much make your own rules. No lines separating lanes. The good thing is that you really dont need to drive much. Its like NY excellent public transportation and Boston is so beautiful that walking is well worth it. North End is The North End period. You should also check out the South End (gay area) thats where I used to live.

That's where we are looking to live. Is it too far of a walk to the T?

Also, is driving more intense in LA or Boston?

We're also looking for places in Beacon Hill, Cambridge and Somerville.

    More intense in Boston.

There is'nt a really close T station in the South End..but it you can catch a bus to it or take a 15 min walk to one.
Cambridge is nice. Beacon Hill is like older people with money.
Somerville not really up my allely but if you have a car its ok.
Bay Village is a very cute small neighborhood(Gay as well).
When I left there was a growing gay neighborhood called Jamaica Plains..you might wanna check that out too.

A few of my women friends are trying to get us to move to Jamaica Plains. It is a little far from Harvard...
I'm going to look into the Bay Village. Haven't heard about that one.

Any of the Restaurants in the North End...also South End (there was a really good ethiopian restarant)has yummy restaurants.

As far as hang outs....I just really liked walking around Newbury Street(check out The Tridant and The Other Side Restaurant)and hanging out at the parks.

Summer is really nice season in Boston.....people just hanging out enjoying the summer....movies and concerts at the park.

I've eaten at Giacamo's (sp?) in the North End and loved it. I also loved Legal Seafood.

I loved the common areas, the parks are great and I think we went to Newbury Street but am not sure...

How do you deal with the winters? Should I get a parka? Snowboots? What do people do with their dogs when it snows? Is it depressing?

Well, it's not a permanent position, maybe three years or so. I told him we may have to do the long distance thing if the winters are too much for me.
He's looking for a permanent position somewhere in Southern California. I have my fingers crossed. Luckily, I can do my creative writing anywhere.

    What's sleet?! (I'm fooling myself, aren't I...)

I totally plan to be on the boards as always. I'll just be posting a little earlier than the West Coasters...
