    The Gas Boycott

    Hello MiceChatters,

I just want to remind you all of the gas boycott that is happening on the 15th. I encourage you all to take part and spread the word. Seriously, e-mail everyone you know....even people you've never spoken to, just type in random e-mails and send them away. Respond to spam and tell them about the boycott.

Many people will tell you that doing all of this will cause Gas Prices to go down, and those people can keep telling themselves that...personally I think that's a load of crap. The reason I care, is that from 3:30-10:00 on the 15th I am scheduled to work at the convienience store/gas station that I am currently employed at. If you all spread the word and the boycott goes off without a hitch, then I will succeed in having a lazy day at work. No one will come into my work, no one will dirty the floor, no one will leave a mess in the bathroom, I can just grab a Rolling Stone off the magazine rack and just sit back. This is ALL I care about. I don't care about gas prices, I don't care about all this drama with foriegn oil, I just want to be able to go to work and do nothing. I'm sure most of you can be sympathetic to my cause.

So just tell all your friends to wait until the 16th to buy their gas. I don't work that day, but a guy I hate does. It'd be killing two birds with one stone!

    WE CAN DO THIS!

In the name of fostering a work-free environment for you, Tui, I'll join an effort to boycotte practically anything...

gas, 40 wt. oil, cigarettes, Hershey's Kisses. gummy bears, Twizlers, tampons, extra sensitive riibbed Trojans, sexual potency/enlargement products, Chicks With D*cks magazines, Viagra, Rogane, denture adhesive creams, You name it, buddy. Anything for a good cause.

Preventing all those pesky customers from making you wait on them on the fiftenth will be well worth it.

I'll go one better! I will just stay home, with the lights off (so as to not use electricity just in case any is generated by petrolium based products).

Yeah right! Well, I wasn't planning on going anywhere, anyway, so I'll just stay home and not buy any gas anyway, and for sure not at Tui's station.

Ok so if we don't buy gas on the 15th, we'll just be buying it on the 14th & 16th then. It's a noble effort but it won't do much. Boycotting one of the big kahunas (Exxon/Mobil, Shell, BP/Amoco) might make more of an impact.

I don't wipe Windows or check oil, and the slushy machine is out of service.

    You're out of luck.

    Re: The Gas Boycott

It is mind blowing. the OP clearly posted, TWO TIMES now, that his motivations had nothing at all to do with gas prices or politics but simply a post in fun in hopes of getting a slow day at work and yet people are still coming on here commenting on whether a boycott is effective in bringing gas prices down or not. Seriously do that many people just read the thread title and/or one line of a post and then just assume the rest and comment on things that they obviously didn't read completely?

Tui, that's the day many of us were planning to finally visit you and it was going to be a big surprise for you at work. So much for that.
