I don't mind my first name being used. My screen name is a little bit long and sounds silly when used in person. DB works just fine though.
Within the last couple of months someone posted my last name here on MC and I got a little freaked out by that. I sent the person a PM and asked her to edit her post, which she did. It was not meant in a malicious way, but I was still really uncomfortable about it.
Unless their name is in the username. Like me. Or Matt.
Or me!!! Honestly, I've used my irl name in my sig at bigger message boards, along with pix of my kids or myself. It's not a big deal to me, but I respect those who choose to not share.
I took my kids to a Letterboxing gathering a while back, it was weird to be called by my trail name all day. On the other hand, we do Ren Faire, and it's not weird to be called by my Faire name during the day!
