    Re: Stamp Price Increase...

The Forever stamp is brilliant. The idea is that people will buy them and then never use them. People will stock pile now, and hold on until some future price increase. Hopefully, in that time those Forever stamps are lost, and thus replaced by more Forever stamps that will go unused.

    Oh, I know that.

Someone came in with a .37 with two .02 added on.

Yep, that is what the USPS hopes will happen (ever hear of coin collecting???).

People will stock pile them now, and either forget where they put them, accidently throw them away, lose them, etc...

Or some might even collect them!!!

They have no additional value over the regular stamps UNTIL the next postage rate increase takes effect.

Until then, they are just (essentially), normal stamps...

If you bought some today and didn't use them up until after the next increase anyway, you shouldn't be worrying about the increase or the cost of postage anyway. You don't use enough...

You figure that the brainchild that came up with the idea would have at least figured to charge one cent more for them. At least the USPS would recoup SOME money for them that way, and folks would still be able to "save" a few cents over the price of future increases.

I can say with certainty that the crowds at the P.O. will be HORRENDOUS when the next price increase is announced. Then the forever stamp will sell like hotcakes. Until then, don't worry about it.

No, she wasn't fired because they marked her down as using her vacation and sick time. My supervisor was trying to find a way around that. So when she quit, she had exhausted her vacation and sick time and finally quit.
