Wow- that's amazing to win one of those slots! I've read about Old Ironsides and I think my brother made a model of her when he was young.

Those will be some great pictures for us and great memories for you.

WOW fantastik - that's a lottery win for sure!

We visited Old Ironsides a year ago on our trip to Boston. The ship is just such an integral part of our history and certainly a sight that left me in awe. Be sure to walk the Freedom Trail if you have time.

And for you to experience this on July 4th is truly special!!
    Have fun!

Each year, "Old Ironsides" sails out of Boston Harbor for a special Independence Day celebration. A few hundred civilians are allowed to come along. Selection is by lottery. Out of about 600,000 entries, a few hundred are selected. This year, we got lucky!

So, Vegas will be cancelled and a flight to Boston will be scheduled. I cannot begin to tell you how excited we are about this. The USS CONSTITUTION is the oldest US Navy ship afloat. Commissioned by George Washington, it was launched in 1797 and continues to be maintained in perfect condition. The rivits of the hull were hand-fashioned by Paul Revere. You can read more here:

To take part in this celebration aboard this historic vessel is truly an honor. This will be a July 4th to remember. Of course, I'll be taking a ton of pics and maybe a little video to share when we return.

    I'm just a little stunned.

I don't know Tom. As lucky as you are with those kinds of odds, I say it's time to head to Vegas.

Congrats on winning those tickets. I'm sure it will be a night to remember.

Of course, we'll be expecting an amazing trip report.

If it is, then we're both corny!

What an amazing honor to get to take part in such an event! I'd never heard about the 4th of July lottery, so thank you for sharing that too!
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!
