Victoria and I have just returned home from our rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. I should have some photos in a couple of days (I had to use 35mm waterproof cameras.) I'll provide a bit of travelogue with the photos, if you're interested. Let me just summarize by telling you this:
We spent 7 days and 6 nights floating down 188 miles of the Colorado River. The scenery was awesome, the rapids were cold, wet and exciting, the nights were spend outdoors in a sleeping bag, the sun was HOT!, the hikes were sometimes over scary mountain paths on the edge of a precipice, and the whole experience was unforgettable. To give you a perspective, it was like a combination of:
Rivers Of America
Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland (substitute a raft for the train)
Big Thunder Mountain RailRoad (substitute a raft for the train)
Splash Mountain
The Submarine Lagoon
Grizzly River Rapids
and
Pirates Of The Caribbean
all rolled up into one... times ten!
I'm tired, achy, bitten, burned and sore. I loved every second of it!
