Pin traders, a little help please

So my kids are now into the pin trading. However, the black Mickey ear backs seems to pop off the back of theirs and they are losing pins. So we purchased the locking backs from Disneyland but I can not figure out how they work. They are little and gold. Any help.... Thanks

UGH! I've lost a good lot of pins becasue of those Mickey backs! I don't exactly know what type of backs the gold ones are... I do know that they have screw on types.. is it perhaps that kind?

Interesting....I think the Mickey backs are the best. What I would do when I wore a lanyard was just constantly be pushing the backs in. I never lost a pin. You just have to push the pin in very hard. I never used the gold backs so I can't help ya there.

The locking pins slip over the post on the back of the pin and there is a very small screw in the side of the locking pin that you tighten against the pin post. They really do help keep the pins locked on. Hope that helps.

I was wondering if they worked. Have been thinking of getting some. Haven't lost a pin yet on the ground, but have lost them in my bag... And have pricked my finger pretty bad from trying to get the mickey back off!

TikiRoomLiz is a pin collector and she was tired of loseing the pins off jackets and lanyards, so she got these locking pins and told me about them. So I remembered that when I saw your message. I am glad I could help. Lucky I was on line at work today and saw it.

I use locking backs on all of my pins. They work great.

The last time we were at DLR our daughter lost the first pin we bought her before we could get a locking back on it. Needless to say we now keep extra locking backs handy and put them on her pins right away.

The pins cost too much to be lost before you get twenty feet from the store. I'm always finding lost pins laying on the ground in the parks.
You can think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking.

I think they are around $8 for a bag of them. I htink you get 10 plus the little allen wrench taht screws them on. I use my pin back whenever I wear a pin. Usually if it is a large one with 2 posts, I use one mickey back and one lock back. I have not lost a pin since I started using them.

Considering that pins cost 6, 8, 10 dollars or more, the lockign pin backs are well worth it.

The locking pin backs help - but you could still lose them that way. Make sure they are in there VERY tight.

Last May I tried to enlist help from Merch CMs to figure out how to get them to work- and that caused some trouble. But find a good Merch CM and they'll help you because I can't exactly describe it without looking at it. Sorry.
