![]() | Re: Arizona Mice Chatters I never made it to a Long Wongs, I think there was one near Scottsdale Rd and Thomas. Wasn't their logo a guy holding a R/C controller of something like that? I kind of remember a controversy over their them about their sign in Scottsdale, but then again Scottsdale loves controversy. |

![]() | Re: Arizona Mice Chatters YES! That is exactly it. I had totally forgotten about that. How dumb! My hubby used to live right across the street from there, behind McGurkee's sandwich shop. (Man! I miss that place too!)

| Birthday girls want $$$ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Arizona Mice Chatters I love Long Wongs Hot Wings. Although the original Tempe one is gone there are franchises that must abide by the original recipe. We used to go to the one at 36th street and Indian School that was a bar but a few years back the owner sold it and now it is a really crappy bar with crappier wings. We now usually go over to the one on East Thomas Road. DLandFansAz I think your right it was political of why Mary Coyles had to move. I am glad to find out I was not the only one to Farell's saying that it was our birthday for the free sundae. |

I was raised in North Tempe, and remember having to travel by school bus across the Salt on the Mill Ave. Bridge both years we had the bad floods. Yes, I miss Farrell's (sp?), and yes, I did win a Ladmo bag - a lunch sized one in the 1970's. I was there as part of the Girl Scouts, my mom was the leader. My sister was there, as well, and I had wanted to switch seats with her. She wouldn't, so I just sat quietly and enjoyed the show anyway. Then, I was selected as the lucky seat winner! Boy was I in shock! And yes, my mother made me share the contents with my sister. I don't remember everything that was in there, mostly junk food and a small toy or two. I know we saved the bag, I can't remember right now where it is exactly. I now have the DVD that's out about them. Thanks! | |

![]() | Re: Arizona Mice Chatters Count me in too, I also am a Phoenician. Kuzcochik and I are both former Metrocenter Disney Store CMs and helped close that store. At the time, it was sadder than sad, but being by there recently I'm kind of glad we left, otherwise we would have stabbed numerous times by now. But I feel that whenever I need my old-school Metrocenter fix, I just pop in my Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure DVD! Also featuring Alhambra High School, Waterworld (I think... maybe Big Surf) and what I think is a Farrell's ice cream parlor.

![]() | Re: Arizona Mice Chatters Actually Bill and Ted's was filmed at Coronado High School in 1987. I was a senior there when it was filmed. We also had a Disney film made there the same year, but I doubt anyone remembers it. That TV film was Not Quite Human with Alan Thicke. |
