Wicked Wednesdays-July 11

Yesterday we headed to Universal to check out Wicked Wednesdays. They stage was set up really cute and even though we got there 30 minutes prior to the show we got standing area right behind the last row of seats. For 30 minutes prior to the show you can do Karoke and try to win tickets to the show and to the Behind The Emerald Curtain tour.

The Wizard, John Rubenstein, was the Master of Ceremonies. He told a bit of history of the book/show and then introduced Julie Reiber, the understudy for Elphaba

She sang The Wizard & I. She's got a gorgeous voice!

Next he introduced Emily Rozek, the understudy for Galinda

She did Popular. She did a great job.

Next up was Adam Lambert, who is ensemble and also the understudy for Fiyero. He was sooooo good looking

The did As Long As Your Mine, they did a wonderful wonderful job.

John Rubenstein came back out ended the show causing people to rush the Yellow Brick Road for autographs. They came back out and did another song but I couldn't hear it over the crowd

They were all extremely nice and personable. They had the Autograph area decorated, a bit, it was a bit chaotic at first but once they opened the area it went smooth. Everyone was given a 2 song cd sampler for autographs and ended it with merchandise(of course) and an area to get your face painted Wicked, which was REALLY cute!

It was a cute set up and just made me want to go and see it again

Which I'm sure was their intention! Good thing is my youngest told me if I see it again, he wants to see it with me

I'm so jealous! I bet you had a wonderful time Tina. I saw "Wicked" when it came to Denver. Spectacular! Did you get the music cd? Did the understudies have any show trivia or stories to tell about the production?

I'm going to try to check this out. My daughter is obsessed with the musical and we have tickets to see it in August. She would flip over a chance to meet part of the cast. Thanks for the great info!

I guess they were a bit more organized this time. 1st time they removed the bench seating, meaning standing room only and more people. Plus they had camera crews in the back. And the karoke started at 11:30. The 1st 2/3 of the people sang the full song. But time was getting short so they cut people off near the end.

This time they kept the bench seating meaning less people to be able to view. And they moved around the face painting and merchandise cart. REMINDER: If you're looking for WICKED merchandise outside of the event, don't bother. Get it at the cart, PLEASE!

I don't know when I'll have my video up on youtube. So just keep checking my channel. I also arrived at noon and stood in the back!! Haha.

We need to organize a WICKED Wednesday meet for Micechatters!!
