    Rangers 30, Orioles...just watching

    Yeah.

Texas Rangers 30, Baltimore Orioles 3.

Thirty unanswered runs. Game one of a doubleheader.

In their previous two games, the Rangers scored a total of TWO runs.

Wow. I remember one opening day in the 90's the Tigers killed the Red Sox 20-1 or something like that. That was such a fun game (if you're a Tigers fan that is)!

    Yowza.

5 runs in the fourth inning.
    9 runs in the sixth.
    10 in the eighth.
    6 more in the ninth.

The Rangers had totalled 28 runs in their previous nine games.

This game was like a made for TV movie and the Orioles played the part of Rodney King.

I guess they were due. Historically, the Rangers have usually been able to score runs, but didn't (and still really don't) have any pitching to speak of.

Still, since Baltimore led 3-0 before that, it's a come from behind win...

The Orioles manager used I think four relievers...they all stayed out there and "took one for the team"...all 30 runs were earned, too...so much for their ERA's...

And the last Rangers reliever pitched the last three innings. Therefore by baseball rules, he gets a save. In a 27-run game.

    OUCH! But pretty accurate.

If it were a fight, it would have been stopped in the middle rounds.

I'm an Angels fan, never particularly an Orioles fan (especially in the 79 playoffs).

But I always admired them. A model organization that did it the right way...from Brooks and Frank Robinson through Cal Ripken, Sr. as well as Jr. Even Earl Weaver was fun to watch.

As a baseball fan, it's sad to see what has become of them now.
