Re: Pumpkin Spice is back!

I LOVE pumpkin spice but I don't even want to think about how many calrories are in it.

I actually haven't had Starbucks in almost 3 months, but that's about to change since I'm going back to college soon, where there are 3 Starbucks within 1-2 blocks of each other and I pass one at least twice a day. Sigh...

Re: Pumpkin Spice is back!

I like pumpkin spice Starbucks as much as the next person, but having all this stuff (like Halloween, Christmas, etc) shoved down our throats months ahead these days...just wrong.

There's great mix-ins that you can buy that are seasonal flavors too. They probably won't come out for another few weeks. Check the creamer section at your local grocer.

I don't like Starbucks usually. They always mess up either my order or Bryan's. I've never had the pumpkin spice, but I'll seek it out when it gets cold.

Bryan and I were talking last night about the changing season and everything and trying to figure out when we're going to put up the Christmas tree. So I guess Pumpkin Spice isn't out too early!

No way. They do the pumpkin spice lattes the last week of August every year. I'd die if they waited until October to make them. For many of us, our fall weather is starting now. Fall=pumpkins. To me, fall=pumpkin spice lattes. It's seasonal, not about holidays.

I get the fact that I am fighting a losing battle here. (And yesss, I had a pumpkin scone last night with my coffee, okay???) But we all know that the world has gone all to heck, and some ask why. The fact that we've forgotten when holiday and other notable celebrations are supposed to start, in other words like they did when I was a kid, can only be one indicator why.

(The previous paragraph was brought to you in living color on TIC...the Tongue In Cheek Network)

Anyone know if Coffee Bean or Peets (which I've come to prefer) have come out with their fall line yet?

PS...Very interesting story about the origin of Starbucks, and Howard Schultz who made it was it's become today, on the Biography Channel this morning.

Starbucks and McDonalds are two major American corporate icons with locations everywhere.

Ironic to me that the original owners of the first stores in each case had no such vision, and it was the likes of Ray Kroc and Schultz that came along and showed them what they could become.

Look, I'm just doing this at least partially, as I said, tongue in cheek.

But for the record it ain't officially fall until late September. And with 100 degree temps here for the next few days...jack o'lanterns will be melting, and the only leaves changing color will be frying on the sidewalks along with the eggs!

That being said, far be it for me to dampen anyone else's fun.

Re: Pumpkin Spice is back!

Many of us experience seasonal change, that doesn't happen right on Sept. 23. For much of the country, we have a bit of fall weather right now...and a pumpkin spice latte just feels right. Yum.

Re: Pumpkin Spice is back!

It's too hot and humid here in So Cal to think about 'fall' Starbuck flavors. Are their orange and raspberry cream flavors still in Starbucks?

Re: Pumpkin Spice is back!

So, I go to Starbucks last night and order a Pumpkin Spice Latte and the girl DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE THEM...and even is she could......SHE COULDN'T FIND THE SYRUP!!!

She was covering someone's break. Whatever. So I just told her I'd come back. I did, and the lady made it wrong, the girl didn't tell her I wanted soy.

Bah. But I got a coupon for a free drink- any kind, any size, next time I come in so I guess it was worth it.

Re: Pumpkin Spice is back!

When I go to the store or the mall, it's always cold inside, so I get myself a hot drink, no matter the outside temperture.
Although, as I noticed with the Cinnamon Dulce latte, the frapp has more flavor to it.

My mom refilled her card for me, so that when we go out, I can get one and she can have a sip or two while she's on her diet. It now has $50 on it. That should tide me over for what, a week maybe?

Re: Pumpkin Spice is back!

I am a total hypocrite. I said it was too early and wouldn't order one until mid-September but I got one tonight. I couldn't resist.
I am all about seasonal foods!!!
