I thought I was packed about a week and half ago. The problem was, what was I going to carry on the plane.
The flight from Chicago is about 4 hours. I need my Disney music. Must have some water, and a snack. Then there are those items you want to keep safe, like your digital camera, cell phone, toiletries, etc; etc; etc; Before I knew it I was carrying two small bags.
So I reorganized again. One Suitcase to check. One carryon - size carryon.
Inside the carryon, I packed my CD case to listen to my music on the plane. I also put in the bag I packed to carry at the park. I also put in the carryon a smaller bag with snacks, water, and other items, I want on the plane. I put a change of clothes in the carryon and all my toiletries. I added all the other valuables, that I want to keep safe, but do not want to check and "Hip, Hip, Hooray!" - I am packed.
I wear a fanny pack. When I get done checking my larger suitcase, and get through security, I only need to take out my CD case and my snack bag and I can access that on the plane. The carryon, with everything else goes in the storage above the seats. When the flight is over, I remove my carryon from the storage space. After disembarking from the plane, I can slip the CD case and the snack bag, back in the carryon and I am good to get my checked bag.
When I arrive at the hotel, I remove my bag for the park and I am good to go.
Sounds like it will work. I hope so. I don't know how people travel light?
I must sound like an old Granny, which I am. Just two days until I leave for my vacation. I am so excited to be going to Disneyland for the first time and I am walking out my front door with only 2 suitcases, both on wheels. I am so proud.
