    need a museum suggestion

    Hi fellow MiceChatters,

The kids are going on a parentless vacation and wifey and I are kidless for a week. I have Tuesday off and would like to take her to a cool museum.

Any cool ideas? I know I'll probably have to drive to LA county to see a really good one. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

    Chad

The Getty, but you need reservations. You pay to park, but the museum itself is free. The grounds are awesome. http://www.getty.edu/
    A signature should go here.

    Re: need a museum suggestion

I second the suggestion of taking her to The Getty, Chad. The grounds are lovely and they have a lot of interesting things to see and do. I have been to all of Southern California's museums, and it's my personal favorite... they also have the most beautiful gardens that you can walk through... it can be very romantic i'd imagine... ... It's peaceful and secluded and just a lovely time...
I also enjoy the Huntington library... they call it a library but its more like a museum, again with amazing gardens and lots of things to enjoy...

Whatever you chose, have a lovely time with wifey!

I wanted to go to the Nethercutt Museum in May but ran out of time and didn't go. They have one of our Royal Hudson steam locomotives there from Canada. Looks like a fancy museum. Has anyone been there?

I went to FIDM to see this... but you may not want to see what they have on display now.

Have you tried Warner Bros. yet? The museum is on the backlot, but to stand less than a foot away from the Maltese Falcon, well, you can't get any more Hollywood then that.

I put another vote out for the Getty. I went a couple weeks ago, it was amazing. Stay for sunset if you go.

The Getty is the only museum I've been to in your area. Loved it. The grounds are glorious.
