The A380 coming to Orlando Intl Airport .

Tommorrow the HUGE Aircraft A380 will make an apearance in Orlando Intl Airport for 2 days before flying back to Europe .

    heres the press release :

A380 world tour continues with the first visit to Montreal
    7 November 2007

The Airbus A380 will continue its world tour with a visit to Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport - in Quebec (Canada), on 12th November 2007.

The world's largest commercial airliner, which is also the most technically advanced and environmentally friendly civil aircraft in the skies will be operated jointly, under Airbus' responsibility, by Airbus and Air France flight and cabin crew.

The aircraft used for the trip is the development aircraft A380 MSN007 (Manufacturer's Serial Number), powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines. MSN007 is equipped with an Airbus-designed, full passenger cabin, which demonstrates how the airplane can comfortably carry up to 519 passengers in an extra-quiet and relaxing three-class cabin environment.

The A380 has already visited more than 60 airports, easily fitting into each environment and demonstrating its smooth and efficient compatibility. The Montréal airport meets the design criteria for the operation of new large aircraft.

As part of the A380 World Tour 2007, MSN007 will leave Montreal on 13th November to go to Orlando International Airport in Florida (United States). It is scheduled to return to Montreal on 15th November, continuing to Paris - Charles de Gaulle on the same day, and then back to its Toulouse base.

Reflecting the market success of the A380, Airbus has already received 189 orders and commitments from 16 customers. First operator, Singapore Airlines, has begun scheduled operations between Singapore and Sydney on 28th October.

Being greener, cleaner, quieter and smarter, the A380 is already setting new standards for air transport and the environment. The A380 has unmatched fuel efficiency, consuming less than three litres per passenger per 100 kilometres. Its new-generation engines and superb aerodynamic performance mean that the A380 not only complies with today's noise limits, it is also significantly quieter than any other large aircraft flying today and produces only half as much noise on take-off and landing than the former largest commercial aircraft.

The A380 has the quietest cabin in the sky, offers more comfort in every class and more space for all. The aircraft's efficiency and advanced technologies result in outstanding economics, superior performance and high operational flexibility. The A380 also provides vital extra passenger capacity without increasing the number of flights. Compared to the former largest commercial aircraft, the A380 seats over 40 percent more passengers in a typical three-class, 525-seat configuration - with seat-mile costs 20 percent lower and range capability over 1,000 nautical miles longer.

I went out to see it when it made it's inaugural landing into LAX some time ago. It's a big scary beast! Still don't understand how they get all those heavy planes in the air.

Just google 'Bernoulli's principle' I'm not in Orlando and live in small enough town I doubt I'll see an A380 around here anytime soon. Still, can't wait to see it as a student pilot m'self
