For my secret Santa I have to get a gift for an 11 year old cousin. Any ideas on what to get an 11 year old girl?

I know gift cards seem so impersonal, but my daughter was all about gift cards for music, books, or clothes when she was that age.

11 is such a tough age because some are still kids and others seem to think they're all grown up. I'm with Sunny, gift cards always fit.
piece of cake, I had oneshe is 13 now.
mp3 players are great gifts , if she does not have a computer you could down load her songs. there running pretty cheap now for a 1g as low as 14.00
also gift cards are big for kids.
Does she have an iPod? iTunes gift cards have been #1 on my son's list since he got his. If she's a big reader you could do Borders or Barnes and Noble gift cards.

A Borders card--that way she can get books, CDs or a DVD.
Or a mall gift certificate?
My 12 year old likes having her own Starbucks card, too. So when she gets one for as little as $5, she's ecstatic.
Does she like jewelry? My girls love Claire's. I know they also have cute hair accessories in that store.
They also have other fun stuff, like lip gloss, pillows, celebrity stuff, pencils, notebooks, address books, journals, etc.
It's been a while since my daughter was 11, seems to me she was really getting into video games at this time. If you have a Game Stop or similiar such video outlet near you, used games are $10-30 with new ones around $40-50 just check and see what/if she has (e.g. Sony/Wii/X-box and stationary or portable)
Good luck.
I'm adding a vote for the gift card idea. Borders or maybe just one of those Visa ones she can use anywhere...

I'd also agree to get a gift card - especially to B&N or Borders.
Does she have High School Musical 1 and 2? ALL of the middle school kids I substitute can sing it... I teach at three different schools alternately.
I was all about gift certificates back in the day (you know when you got a certificate...), 11 was all about the gift certificates.
I had a weird idea that... one thing my mom did when I was little/that age was she got me makeup but (and a big but here) it was colors that were "idiot proof" and good quality. You could get her a Bare Escentuals kit, where she could sleep in it and be okay...
