The Mitten and other holiday programs

The holiday season is upon us and I just wondered if any of you have gone to any shows yet?

My son was in the Ballet Arts Center production of The Mitten last night. It was wonderful! Here are some of my favorite pictures:

    Before the curtain opened:

The director's husband painted this gorgeous set. The dancer who played the boy in the story was fabulous.

    The Snow .

    The Dolls.

    The Bird.

    The Deer.

    The Fox.

The Skunks. (this is my son : ) )

    More of the skunks.....

    ...tango dancing

    twirling the ballerinas

My son's best friend and his dance partner.

Two of the baby skunks peeking out of the mitten.

    The Bunnies.

    The Mice.

    Aaa-choo and the mitten bursts!

    Finale

    Ukranian dancing

Make up and everything! : )

One last dance from the bird

    The final bow:

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Would love to see any of yours from holiday shows! : )

You sure had great seats!! Love the ballet! Haven't seen the Nutcracker since we lived up north and went to the Paramount (Oakland) every year then went to Jack London Square to see the decorations.

What great pictures! The background sets are beautiful! The directors husband did a great job, and looks like all of the kids did a wonderful job and had a lot of fun too!

Awesome sets! Great costumes! Looks like a "hit!" in my book! My mother was a dancer while grew up and so these shows bring back terrific memories.

    Thanks for sharing!

My little school's Winter Program is this Thursday night. For years, I had to organize it, but this year--I said no. I can't wait to see it and ENJOY it without strings!

    Peace,

Wow! I like the skunk costumes the boys wore - very James Bond! Your son is quite the handsome fellow (and looking more and more like Westley! ).

The little ones are so precious! The baby skunks peeking out of the mitten - so cute!

Is he going to do another production or is this "it" for him? I think he should do another round - it certainly sounds like he's enjoyed it!

    LOVE the pics!!!!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

We were actually in Row J , 10 rows back, but my hubby has a good camera so he was able to get these shots!

I've never seen the Nutcracker in Oakland ...I bet that would be fun there and seeing the lights at Jack London Square afterward.

He and his friend both had a blast and they are both quite popular with the ladies now!

When you come back to the US, are you going to start dancing again? If you lived close by me, we could go to dance classes together and that would be a blast!
