Are they at least taking the Ace train? Does that go through Modesto? Can't remember.

Not everybody. But one of my part time associates does maintenance at the stations. He said Modesto is in negotiations with them at this time. Lets hope the "Old guard " of Modesto does the right thing. They are up to 5 trains now.
I 205 is under expansion (FINALLY)

    Crime.

Banks. On almost every street corner, there is at least one bank with another being built next to it. The same with fitness centers.

We've got that, too. Go down the street and you have your choice of fast-food or other resurants. We have at least one of everything and duplicates a mile in the other direction. All these crappy fast food places and no Penn Station within 5 miles of my house. I have to drive 25 minutes if I want it. It's sad.

Right wingers. We lovingly call them "the Flat Earth Society." We're home to Focus on the Family.

My Jewish Ma calls them the Hitler Youth Training Camp.

Understand too--they are involved in EVERYTHING. I mean no insult. Vote as you wish. But when they publish stuff and then alert the newspaper for every detail (a nearby town used the word "Rainbow" to describe themself--QUELLE DOMAGE!), they can get annoying.

Needless to say, the Golden Compass will probably do well in these parts.

Basically, we're overrun with Save Mart Supermarkets.
On one stretch of Oakdale Road, there are 3 within five miles of each other, and they're building another one! In the whole city there are at least 8...
    That's in addition to the 4 Raley's, 1 Safeway, 2 O'Brien's, and a score of others!

In my neck of the woods, we've been taken over with traffic and people, traffic and people...But it's a nice place to live nonetheless.
