They are made from a recipe I got from my neighbor. Its a family recipe that she does not give out. I had to work on getting it from her for years. Its just about the only cookie recipe I would not give to someone.
We did these last weekend, the kids had a ball!! and they ate it the same day
My goal is to finish my gingerbread house today. I don't like how it turned out and for some reason my homemade icing has been turning yellow.
It's a project for this next weekend. My niece is coming to visit, so we'll be making a house then.

Everything looks wonderful! I don't have the patience for baking, I never want to wait for the decorations to be put on. I will be buying some cookies at DL this week, though. Yummy!

I bought my kit today but I won't be creating it until my mom gets here the week of Christmas.

Disclaimer: I had absolutely no involvement with creating the gingerbread house in the following pictures. But it was too cool not to take a picture and post here. This is the walk-thru gingerbread house in the lobby of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown L.A. It's not quite as exquisite as the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian in WDW, but in terms of scale, it's impressive.

I have done NO baking this year so far. Just returned from DL last Saturday late night, so, I've been trying to catch up with reality since then.
