Trip Report - Brussels and Paris

Adam and I took a quickie trip to Brussels and Paris. This was a sort of add-on from our last trip to Disneyland Paris. Here are some photos I took. I hope you enjoy them.

We flew on American Airlines from Miami to Brussels via New York.



This was one of the many chocolate stores in Brussels.



Brussels is a walking city, but you may also rent a bike to get around.



The main tourist attraction is the 15th century Grand Place - or main plaza. The architecture was fantastic.



This was the King's Palace.



Kinda reminds you of another castle, doesn't it?



Another famous tourist attraction is "Mannekin Pis." The statue has over 1000 costumes and he was dressed as Santa when we were there.



This must have been the gay part of town.



We also visited the Atomium, built for the 1958 World's Fair.



From the top sphere, we could see "Mini-Europe."

We then took a quick train ride on the Thalys to Paris.

Welcome to Paris and the Champs Elysees!



The Disney Store was actually on two levels.







We had lunch at Chez Clement, right on the Champs Elysses. Very yummy and very expensive.



The Luxembourg Gardens with Notre Dame in the distance.



The weather wasn't very good as you could see. It wasn't tough to make out the Eiffel Tower, though.



Our hotel was in the La Defense area - near the Grande Arch.



More modern buildings in La Defense.



La Defense is just west of the Arch De Triomphe.



We also visited the Eiffel Tower.



The Seine River.







There were huge queues to go up and visit the Eiffel Tower.















You could see people climbing the stairs.







Pretty, aint it?



One of the many beautiful residential buildings in Paris.



There were lots of these little cars around.



The "Hotel des Invalides" - which is not a hotel. It's where Napoleon is buried.



The Place de la Concorde - where King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were beheaded.

Let them eat brioche!

I love that Mannequin Pis' willy is sticking out of his pants Isn't the Thalys trian ride fabulous? Such fun memories of my day trip there a few years ago. Can't wait to see more!

I visited Antwerp, Belgium a couple of years ago and had an incredible time. Now it looks like I'll have to make a return trip and check out Brussels!
